Burton sends its postcard to the UK Town of Culture judges
The latest milestone in Burton's Town of Culture bid puts the town's proud past and exciting future in the picture.
We've mentioned before that Burton-on-Trent is in the running to become the UK's Town of Culture 2028, and the town has now reached another milestone in its bid.
As part of the application process, every town is asked to submit a postcard that captures what makes their community special. Burton's entry celebrates everything that gives the town its distinctive character, from its world-famous brewing heritage and thriving arts and music scene to its illuminated landmarks and the strong community spirit that continues to shape its future.
The postcard joins entries from towns across the UK, each showcasing the places, people and stories that make their communities unique. It's a fascinating snapshot of the different towns taking part in the competition, and well worth a browse if you're curious to see how Burton compares.
You can explore all of the submitted postcards and follow the competition via the official UK Town of Culture Digital Map here.
The Town of Culture programme aims to celebrate the culture, creativity and community that make towns across the UK special. For Burton, the bid is an opportunity to shine a spotlight on everything the town has to offer - not just its proud history, but the exciting future being built by local organisations, businesses, artists and volunteers.
We'll continue following Burton's journey as the bid progresses and keep you updated with the latest developments. Fingers crossed that Burton's postcard is just one step closer to bringing the Town of Culture title home in 2028. |
