New Community Learning Courses Launch Across Staffordshire â Including Opportunities for Burton Residents
Adults across Staffordshire are being invited to learn something new this year as a fresh programme of Community Learning courses opens for enrolment. The courses, delivered by Staffordshire County Councilâs Community Learning Service, are available to anyone aged 19 and over and aim to help people build skills, boost confidence and improve wellbeing. Many of the sessions are free or low-cost, making them accessible for a wide range of residents. For people living in Burton upon Trent and the surrounding villages, the programme offers the chance to take part in learning close to home, with courses running both online and at community venues across the county. A wide range of subjects The latest programme covers a broad mix of topics designed to suit different interests and needs. Courses include: Digital skills English and maths Wellbeing and nature-based learning Family learning Creative courses Practical life skills The aim is to provide flexible and welcoming learning opportunities, whether someone wants to improve their job prospects, gain new practical skills, or simply try something different. The Community Learning Service also works closely with local partners to ensure courses support people who may be returning to learning after time away. Robin Hall, Staffordshire County Council's Cabinet Member for Economy and Skills, said: "Community learning is about more than courses, itâs about giving people the confidence, skills and opportunities to move forward. "This programme is designed to be accessible and practical, whether someone is looking to improve their job prospects, build digital skills, or simply take that first step back into learning. "We want to make sure that opportunity is there for everyone, in every part of Staffordshire." How to find out more Full details of the courses, including eligibility information and how to enrol, can be found on the Staffordshire County Council Community Learning webpages. For Burton residents thinking about learning a new skill this year, it could be a good opportunity to try something new without travelling far from home.
