All the Good Stuff Happening in Burton! Thursday 4th December 2025 |
🎄 What’s On in Burton This Weekend 🎅
The festive season is shifting into top gear - and Burton is bursting with Christmas cheer this weekend, from sleigh bells and bazaars to brass bands and a brilliant line-up of live music.
🧶 Also happening on Saturday, there’s a cosy new addition to the town centre as a new wool shop opens on Market Place, with a special appearance from one of TV's star knitters. A nice little stop if you’re out browsing the markets or looking for gift ideas with a crafty twist.
🎪 You’ll also find Christmas fairs, markets and bazaars popping up all over - from Rosliston and Swadlincote to Uttoxeter and Guild Street- so there’s no shortage of mince pies, handmade gifts, and mulled wine to explore.
🎸 And the live music? Absolutely jam-packed. From Showaddywaddy at Burton Town Hall, to tribute bands, acoustic acts and indie favourites across pubs and clubs, the weekend soundtrack is sorted. Add in karaoke nights, discos, and even a festive wrestling match between Team Santa and Team Grinch, and your social calendar is pretty much written for you.
🅿️ Plus, there’s good news for shoppers: Burton’s Christmas parking is now free across town on selected days in December - perfect for anyone popping in for presents or simply soaking up the lights.
🕳️ We’ve also got an update on the 18,000 potholes filled across Staffordshire, the full route for Santa’s sleigh tours around Burton’s neighbourhoods, and your full 3-day weather forecast so you know when to pack the brolly.

This initiative gives residents an opportunity to pick up gifts, visit the market, or enjoy a seasonal treat while supporting local businesses.

Staffordshire’s road crews have tackled nearly 18,000 potholes since May, using the dry summer weather to repair surfaces across the county, including Burton.
Teams have also inspected close to 50,000 road gullies in preparation for the wet winter months ahead.
With the July addition of a second JCB Pothole Pro — a multifunctional machine — the county aims to accelerate repairs and clear the backlog before conditions worsen.
Cllr Patrick Allen, Cabinet Support Member for Highways North, emphasised the proactive approach, noting repairs will continue throughout winter despite the shift to gritting priorities.
Staffordshire County Council has also unveiled its Roadmap to a Better Highways Network, promising smarter repairs, new technology, and a push for fair government funding, aiming for smoother travel for residents throughout the year. Read More... |

Routes start after dark, typically from 5:30pm, and cover as many streets as possible each night.
