Burton’s historic transformation is officially underway as East Staffordshire Borough Council approves full planning permission for The Old Brewery Quarter.

This ambitious development will revive the High Street and celebrate Burton’s brewing legacy while creating vibrant new attractions and venues.

Bass House will become an interactive Brewing Heritage and Social History Experience, complete with working brewery, exhibits, and the National Brewery Heritage Archive.

Loungers Ltd will open a new café-bar in Bass House, offering relaxed dining and Burton-brewed ales.

The finished Washlands Enhancement Project boasts boardwalks and play areas, with a visitor centre coming soon.

Plans also include a modern hotel at Carling House, an expanded events square, and a water tower transformed into a stunning visitor spot.

Work begins in early 2026, marking a historic win for Burton’s community.
