đ Whatâs On in Burton This Week
Winter is officially warming up â in spirit, at least â as Burton gets set to switch on the Christmas lights this Sunday in the Market Place. Expect festive cheer, live music, street performers, and a big crowd gathered to kick off the townâs Christmas countdown in proper Burton style.
And if thatâs not enough to tempt you out, thereâs a massive line-up of live music across the weekend, with more than a dozen gigs from pub rockers, acoustic favourites, and even a Britainâs Got Talent star gracing our local stages. Add in karaoke, cabaret, a comedy night, and a Christmas fair or two, and youâve got a weekend brimming with reasons to leave the sofa behind.
đ¤ Whether you're into Elton John tributes, local acoustic stars, or a good old-fashioned singalong, thereâs something happening near you this Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Shobnall Road in Burton has officially reopened following extensive repairs and the introduction of a new, safer crossing.
As part of a wider Staffordshire County Council project earlier this year, a new shared footpath and cycleway was added to Shobnall Road to link up a missing stretch of the National Cycle Network (NCN) Route 54, between the A38 overpass and Shobnall Leisure Complex.
However, during the work, engineers uncovered hidden defects beneath the road surface that required more extensive repairs than first planned. These extra works have now been completed, with the finishing touches added on Monday 17 November.
One key improvement is a parallel crossing for both cyclists and pedestrians, designed to boost safety, especially for those traveling to Shobnall Nursery and Primary School.
So next time youâre heading down Shobnall Road â on foot, bike, or in the car â youâll be travelling on a smoother, safer route thatâs better connected and built to last. Read More... |
