Swadlincote’s Christmas Lights Switch-On Promises Festive Fun for All
The countdown to Christmas begins with a bang in Swadlincote as the town gets ready to flip the festive switch on Saturday 29 November. From 4pm to 7pm, The Delph will be buzzing with seasonal cheer as families from across the area come together to celebrate the start of the Christmas season.
The highlight of the evening will be the grand lights switch-on at 6:30pm, transforming the town centre into a sparkling winter wonderland. But there’s plenty to enjoy before the big moment. Expect live festive music to get you in the spirit, alongside glowing street performers who’ll light up the pavements with dazzling displays.
You’ll also find traditional fairground rides for all ages, plus a tempting selection of hot food and drink stalls to keep you warm and well-fed as you soak up the atmosphere.
This is a completely free event, open to everyone, and perfect for getting the whole family into the Christmas mood. Whether you’re five or ninety-five, there’s a little festive magic for everyone at this joyful community celebration.
