This Week's InBurton Insider

Thursday 24th April 2025 Welcome to this week's InBurton Insider. We hope you had a cracking Easter – whether you were hunting eggs or just eating your body weight in chocolate (no judgement here). Now that the sugar crash has passed, Burton’s buzzing again with a weekend full of brilliant events. Whether your vibe is velvet-voiced tribute acts, spooky stage shows, or a proper knees-up with a live band, there’s something going on somewhere – and it may well involve a guitar solo - or a large alien plant. This weekend’s musical menu includes everything from WT Funk at The Tower Brewery to Blue Yates at Beeropolis and even Bass in Ya Face at The Grange Inn, which we assume is not a pint of our local brew. Meanwhile, over at the Pirelli Stadium, it’s officially squeaky bum time for Burton Albion. Just outside the drop zone with three games to go, Saturday’s clash against Cambridge United is huge. If you're heading to the match, bring your loudest voice and your lucky socks. Every chant counts now - as does every point. Fancy something a little less nerve-shredding? Little Shop of Horrors continues its run at The Brewhouse, and crafters will find paradise at the British Quilt & Stitch Village in Uttoxeter. And if you’re in the mood for a mooch and a nibble, the Tutbury Artisan Market and Uttoxeter Makers Market are both worth a wander. So whether you’re dancing, dramatising, driving vintage cars, or just dodging potholes on the way to a car boot – enjoy the weekend, Burton. We’ve earned it. |

I bought a thesaurus in town today - but when I got home, all the pages were blank. I have no words for how angry I am.
