Barton-under-Needwood is set for a major uplift, as leading rail manufacturer Wabtec announces a significant expansion of its local operations, creating 150 new jobs.
The company plans to extend its Barton facility by over 7,000 square metres, with the improved site expected to be completed before the end of 2026 and ultimately support around 500 employees.
This move reflects Wabtecâs drive to modernise and boost efficiency across the UKâs rail sector, bringing various production lines together and supporting a greener, more advanced rail network.
The development follows Wabtecâs decision to close its Doncaster site, but the investment shows a clear, long-term commitment to Staffordshire and high-quality rail manufacturing in the region.
East Staffordshire stands to benefit from new skilled jobs and a modernised facility, further cementing Bartonâs status as a hub for advanced industry. Read More... |
