When is the Statutes Fair in Burton-on-Trent?

Here are the details of when you can enjoy the Statutes Fair in Burton in 2025.

The much-loved Statutes Fair is set to return to Burton-on-Trent later this month, bringing rides, games and plenty of family fun.

This year’s fair will run from Sunday 28th September to Tuesday 30th September 2025, taking over the Market Place and surrounding streets, including High Street, Lichfield Street, New Street, Manor Croft and Manor Drive.

Fair opening times

  • Sunday 28th September – 12:30pm to 11:00pm

  • Monday 29th September – 12:00pm to 11:00pm

  • Tuesday 30th September – 12:00pm to 11:00pm

Fairground staff will begin setting up on the evening of Saturday 27th September, ready for the three days of entertainment.

Road closures and restrictions

To allow the fair to take place safely, a number of road closures and restrictions will be in place from 4pm on Saturday 27th September until 6am on Wednesday 1st October. This will also allow time for the fair to be dismantled and the streets cleared afterwards.

  • Market Place – closed to all traffic

  • High Street – closed from its junction with Station Street to Lichfield Street

  • New Street – closed from its junction with High Street to Union Street

  • Lichfield Street – closed from its junction with High Street to Bond Street

  • Abbey Street – closed from its junction with Lichfield Street to Fleet Street

Drivers are advised to plan ahead and use alternative routes while the fair is in place.

A tradition in Burton

The Statutes Fair has a history stretching back over a century, with Pat Collins Fun Fairs closely associated with the event for more than 100 years. It began as a hiring fair traditionally held on the first Monday and Tuesday after Michaelmas, and today continues as a highlight of Burton’s cultural calendar.

The streets of the town centre will once again be filled with rides, attractions and a vibrant atmosphere, drawing in crowds of all ages.
