East Staffordshire councillors have given the green light to a new retail and leisure hot spot - Shobnall Retail Park - promising over 150 jobs in Burton on Trent.

The approved project will transform empty land off Shobnall Road into a vibrant destination, featuring eight modern retail units across 78,500 sq ft.

Confirmed tenants include M&S Foodhall, Greggs, Jollyes pet store, and a 24-lane bowling alley and entertainment complex from Tenpin.

Plans also feature a drive-thru, community wellbeing hub, and expansive upgrades for cyclists and pedestrians.

Local company Maplevale is leading the development.

The council deemed retail impact minimal and secured funding for off-site highway works and vital tree planting in the National Forest.

Construction dates are pending, but residents can look forward to more choice and energy for Burton.
