All the Good Stuff Happening in Burton! Thursday 11th September 2025 |
🎉 What’s On in Burton This Week
It’s a blockbuster weekend in Burton – with Sonic Boom Festival bringing big names, local favourites and a full day of live music to venues across town. And if that’s not enough to get your toes tapping, there’s tributes galore (from Robbie to MJ to Oasis), jazz in Hanbury, and a healthy dose of Monsters of Rock in case things were feeling too calm.
Beyond the music, you’ll find Swad Heritage Fest in full swing, Burton Albion at home at the Pirelli Stadium, and history buffs can take a walk through 1,500 years of Burton’s past on a guided town tour. Add in a car boot sale, a country fair, and a few themed club nights for good measure - and you’ve got a packed weekend across the borough.

Plans to introduce parking charges at Barton Marina were unexpectedly put on hold, just before their intended launch last Saturday, September 6.
The site owners had stated that the new charges were designed to address parking shortages and stemmed from feedback collected in a recent visitor survey.
However, the marina’s management cited an 'unforeseen issue' as the reason for the delay, with no new implementation date announced.
Despite the pause, ongoing improvements to Barton Marina’s car park will not be affected.
Local businesses, including The Red Carpet Cinema and Café, have welcomed the delay, having voiced strong concerns over potential impacts on customer access and longstanding parking agreements.
For now, at least, visitors can continue to enjoy free parking while exploring the popular lakeside shops, restaurants, and leisure facilities.
Whether stopping for coffee or a movie, there’s no need to worry about meters just yet. Read More... |
The Dial Bar & Restaurant on Station Street is entering a new era after more than 20 years as a beloved Burton establishment.
Longtime owners James and Emily, who spent 23 years building The Dial’s reputation for relaxed dining and quality service, have sold the venue to Yeomans Developments Ltd, a prominent family-run business.
The couple was determined to find new owners who would maintain The Dial’s welcoming spirit and believe the Yeomans family is the perfect fit.
Laren and Christine Yeomans and their five children will now lead the restaurant, eager to honour its traditions while introducing fresh ideas - hinting at a playful “turning the clock back” concept in future plans.
Regulars can rest easy knowing the dedicated staff and signature friendly atmosphere remain unchanged as The Dial looks toward an exciting future under new local ownership. Read More... |
