All the Good Stuff Happening in Burton! Thursday 4th June 2026 |
đ Whatâs On in Burton This Week
Hello and welcome to this weekâs InBurton Insider.
June has arrived and Burton is certainly making the most of it. Whether you're planning on enjoying the ever-popular Burton Ale Trail, heading to the Garden Party at Isabel's or soaking up some live music at one of the many venues across the area, there's plenty happening over the next few days.
It's also a great weekend for those with green fingers - or simply green values. Community gardening returns to The Brewhouse Community Garden on Saturday, while Burton Market Place hosts the Vegan Street Fest, bringing together food, shopping, entertainment and live music in the town centre.
Music lovers are particularly well catered for this week, with everything from The Upbeat Beatles at Burton Town Hall to local performers appearing across pubs and venues throughout Burton and the surrounding villages. Wherever you are, there's a good chance a guitar won't be far away.
In this week's edition, we've also got news that the Station Street resurfacing project has been completed, bringing smoother journeys through the town centre. We look at Staffordshire's new Travel Assistance Cards, which are now available from Burton Library and could make bus travel easier and less stressful for many residents.
As always, we've rounded up the latest petrol and diesel prices, plus the weekend weather forecast to help you plan your days ahead.
Let's get started.

The Burton Ale Trail returns from June 4th to 7th, bringing a lively celebration of the townâs famed brewing heritage, this year with a World Cup-themed twist.
A record 17 pubs and clubs are joining in, from storied favorites to new haunts, each offering its own taste of Burtonâs beer culture and history.
Thousands of ale lovers - local and visiting - are expected, with highlights like football-inspired dĂŠcor and special T-shirts adding to the festive spirit.
The event aims to showcase Burtonâs unique brewing legacy - born from the townâs unique water and exported worldwide - while raising funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.
Major support comes from longstanding breweries, including Burton Bridge Brewery and Samuel Allsopp & Sons.
Organisers invite everyone to soak up the atmosphere and savor each stop, promising a journey through a truly living brewing tradition. Read More... |

Drivers in Burton can now enjoy a noticeably smoother commute after a major Station Street resurfacing was finished this week.
Staffordshire County Councilâs highways team completed the work between the Burton Place car park and The Dial, carefully timing overnight shifts to avoid daytime disruption.
More than just a new layer of tarmac, the project included upgraded ironworks and improved highway drainage for long-term durability.
Coordination with utility companies and with the Derby Road improvements meant no overlapping closures, reducing inconvenience for drivers and local businesses.
The resurfacing forms part of ongoing investment in Burtonâs transport network, aimed at keeping the town moving safely and efficiently. Read More... |
Burton residents can now access free Travel Assistance Cards at Burton Library, thanks to Staffordshire County Councilâs new Celebrating Differences Inclusive Travel campaign.
The initiative supports local people with disabilities, sight loss, and neurodivergent conditions, giving them a discreet way to communicate their needs to bus drivers without having to speak.
Requests on the cards include asking for extra time to sit before the bus moves, or having drivers face passengers when speaking.
Developed with input from those with lived experience, this straightforward approach aims to reduce public transport anxiety and foster greater independence.
Councillor Martin Rogerson highlights that the program could be life-changing by removing daily barriers for disabled travelers.
The campaign also offers accessible travel information, passenger rights, and operator training, running countywide through September 2026.
Travel Assistance Cards are also downloadable from the councilâs website. Read More... |
