Burton residents can now recycle food and drink cartons, including Tetra Pak, in their blue bins for the first time.

This move follows a new government requirement for waste collection authorities to accept cartons along with other recyclables.

Households can now simply place empty juice, milk, soup, or custard cartons in with their regular recyclables, making eco-friendly habits even easier to follow.

Cartons are made from layers of cardboard, plastic, and sometimes aluminium, all of which can be separated and reprocessed at specialist facilities.

By adding cartons to blue bin collections, fewer materials end up in landfill and more get reused locally.

Just remember to give items a quick rinse before recycling. Every carton recycled helps Burton take another step toward a greener future.
