Welcome to your latest InBurton Insider â packed with everything you need to know for the weekend ahead in our corner of Staffordshire.
Weâre halfway through January now (how did that happen?), and things are slowly starting to warm up â not so much the weather, sadly, but the local events calendar is definitely coming back to life!
The big highlight this week is Annie at The Brewhouse. Itâs already proving a smash hit â with both Saturday performances sold out and only a handful of seats left for other nights, so grab yours now if you don't want to miss out.
Thereâs also a Meat Loaf tribute bringing some big ballads to Burton Town Hall, a Drag Night at Stapenhill FC, line dancing in Stretton, Northern Soul and Ceroc dancing across the town, plus a triple helping of Sunday live music to close the weekend in style.

Burton-born Aldi manager Dave Cotton is pushing his limits for a vital cause, running 5K every day for 365 days to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
His "No Days Off: 5K for 365" campaign hits a milestone this Friday with his 50th run, and the full 365 days is set to conclude on his 50th birthday in November.
Known locally for his marathon feats and dedication, Dave has already logged over 155 miles in and around Burton - regardless of rain, wind, or frost.
The Swadlincote Aldi staff and community have rallied in support, organising fundraisers and even joining Dave on his daily runs.
For Dave and his team, supporting the Teenage Cancer Trust is deeply personal, and their collective efforts over the years have raised more than ÂŁ5,000.
With 315 runs to go, the Burton and Swadlincote community is encouraged to get involved, donate, or simply cheer Dave on as he runs by. Read More... |
The Weighbridge Inn has officially closed its doors, marking the end of an era for Burton.
Owners Mandy, Richard, Matthew and the team expressed deep gratitude for the friendships and memories formed over the years.
Known for its welcoming atmosphere and heartfelt service, the Weighbridge Inn has long been a local favourite, connecting people over pints and conversation.
The closure leaves many Burtonians saddened by the loss of a great pub.
We wish the entire Weighbridge team the best in their next chapter and hope that the pub might reopen again soon. Read More... |

The AA have warned that anyone travelling in the current icy conditions should take a shovel, blankets or sleeping bag, extra clothing (including scarf, hat and gloves), 24 hour supply of food and drink, de-icer, rock salt, torch, spare battery, and water.
I felt like a right prat on the bus to Swad this morning though. |
