All the Good Stuff Happening in Burton! Thursday 11th June 2026 |
đ Whatâs On in Burton This Week
Hello and welcome to this weekâs InBurton Insider.
After a soggy week that has left many of us wondering if summer had taken a wrong turn at Branston, the good news is that this weekend looks much drier. Perfect timing, too, as there's another packed few days of events across Burton and the surrounding area.
Green-fingered readers can get stuck into the Start Your Own Garden workshop on Friday or take a wander around Winshill Allotment Open Day on Sunday, while those who prefer their refreshment in a glass rather than a watering can can enjoy the Beer Festival in Stretton throughout the weekend.
We've also got the latest local petrol and diesel prices, this weekend's weather forecast, and a fresh serving of Business Bites to keep you in the loop.
Whether you're heading to a family event, enjoying some live music, or simply making the most of the brighter weather, there's plenty happening close to home.
Let's get started.
Do you run a business in the Burton area? We can put you in front of over 5,300 local subscribers (and growing weekly).

Bite-sized updates from the businesses that help make Burton tick.
đ New Swadlincote Leisure Centre plans have been approved by the District Council. The ÂŁmulti-million facility will include pools, a gym, sports hall, cafĂŠ, community spaces and council offices, with work starting this summer ahead of a 2028 opening. đ A Sainsburyâs Local looks set to be approved for Burtonâs new Upper Outwoods Farm development. The convenience store would form part of the 950-home site currently being built on the edge of the town. đş Burton Ale Trail Success saw hundreds of people visit pubs across the town last weekend. All venues reported strong trade during the event, with thanks going to organiser Ian Webster for bringing the trail together. |

A police officer stopped me last night due to the terrible state of the sleeve on my cardigan, which is covered in small balls of thread. I've been charged with grievous bobbly arm! |
