People in Burton upon Trent are being invited to help shape the future of electric vehicle charging across the borough.
East Staffordshire Borough Council has launched a public survey asking residents for their thoughts on proposals to create new electric vehicle (EV) charging hubs at council-owned and community locations.
The plans are being explored in partnership with Staffordshire County Council, using potential funding from the Governmentâs Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) programme.
Helping plan the next generation of charging
The short survey takes around 8â10 minutes to complete and asks residents about things such as:
The feedback will help shape future proposals before any planning applications or installation decisions are made.
Importantly, you donât need to own an electric vehicle to take part.
The council is keen to hear from people who rely on public charging, residents without off-street parking, and anyone with accessibility needs. EV charging already available in Burton
There are already a handful of public charging options in the borough. In Burton, drivers can find EV charging outlets at Cooper Square Car Park, while a newer solar-powered charging hub was recently installed at Maltings Car Park.
The Papilio3 solar-integrated hub in Uttoxeter includes 42 solar panels and can generate enough clean electricity to power roughly 64,000 miles of electric vehicle driving each year.
