Burton's Beer Barrel Fountain has been saved, after developers officially withdrew their demolition plans. It’s a big win for local heritage – and for the many InBurton Insider readers who contacted the council and our MP, Jacob Collier.
East Staffordshire Borough Council confirmed the decision this week.
It’s now possible the fountain could be relocated elsewhere in the town, with the new High Street development suggested by some (including us) as a potential site.

I bought a vinyl record yesterday called "Sounds Wasps Make". When I got home and played it, I said to myself, "this doesn't sound anything like wasps". Then I realised I was playing the bee side.
