Thursday 13th March 2025 Welcome to this week's InBurton Insider. If Burton’s weather was a person, it’d be that friend who can’t decide whether to wear shorts or a winter coat. This past week has thrown everything at us—hail, near-freezing temperatures, and then, just when we thought we were in for an extra long winter, a burst of unexpected sunshine. Who knows what’s next? A heatwave? A blizzard? Best be prepared for both. One thing that is consistent, however, is Burton’s buzzing weekend lineup. Whether you fancy a trip to the theatre for 42nd Street at The Brewhouse, a night of Fleetwood Mac nostalgia with a Stevie Nicks tribute at The Monk’s Bridge, or something a little more high-energy like the return of Pump at The Complex, there’s plenty going on. If you prefer a bit of glamour, the Midlands Grand National at Uttoxeter Racecourse is sure to bring the excitement, or you can sing your heart out at one of the many karaoke nights around town. And for all the Elton John fans out there, the "Nearly Elton" tribute at Burton Town Hall promises to be a real showstopper. Meanwhile, for our dog-loving readers, we’ve got some pawsome news! We’ve launched a brand-new Dog Friendly section on the InBurton website, listing over 30 pubs, cafés, and venues where you and your four-legged friend will be welcome.
