Union Street and New Street Roadworks Progressing Smoothly in Burton Town Centre |
The work is on track for August 8 completion |
The ongoing roadworks at the junctions of Union Street and New Street in Burton are advancing as planned. Over the past fortnight, crews have diligently removed outdated ironworks, replaced damaged kerbs, and re-laid paving to enhance the area's infrastructure.
Looking ahead, the next two weeks will focus on resurfacing the roads, resetting ironworks, installing new traffic sensors, and repainting road markings. These improvements aim to provide a smoother and safer driving experience for all road users.
To minimize disruption, overnight work will continue from Monday to Thursday, with road closures in effect from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. until Friday, August 8. This schedule allows for efficient progress while reducing daytime traffic interruptions.
In support of local businesses during these essential works, East Staffordshire Borough Council has collaborated to offer free evening parking for patrons of The Long Hop, the new pub opening on Manor Drive on Friday, August 1. From Wednesday, July 30, to Friday, August 8, parking will be free after 6 p.m. at Fleet Street Car Park, ensuring that local establishments can continue to welcome customers with minimal disruption.
The project is on track for completion by August 8. |
