Exciting news for Burton-on-Trent: the beloved venue formerly known as The Winery is set to reopen as The Long Hop, marking the third establishment under the Cat & Wickets Pub Company.

Founded by former England cricketers Stuart Broad and Harry Gurney, the company has successfully operated The Tap & Run in Upper Broughton and The Griffin Inn in Swithland. The addition of The Long Hop aligns with their ambitious plan to expand to five pubs by 2026.

The Winery, a cherished spot in Burton, closed its doors in February 2025 after 15 years of service. Its transformation into The Long Hop promises to breathe new life into the historic location, offering patrons exceptional food, drinks, and the warm hospitality synonymous with the Cat & Wickets brand.

Bookings for The Long Hop will open soon and more details will be revealed on their Facebook page which you can find HERE.
