Will Burton Be Buried in Snow – or Just Lightly Dusted?
Storm Goretti set to bring heavy snow to the Midlands - but will Burton see a blizzard or just a bit of bother?
The Midlands is bracing for what some are calling the most significant snowfall in 20 years, expected to arrive tomorrow (Thursday) evening. Storm Goretti is sweeping in with a wintry wallop, and if the forecasts hold true, it could rival the big snow years of 2010 and 2018. Forecasters are warning of:
But here in Burton on Trent? Well, we’ve seen dramatic forecasts before – and often ended up with little more than a dusting and a few slushy pavements. While we’re definitely in the broader target zone, there’s still uncertainty about where exactly the heaviest snow will fall. A slight shift north or south could make a big difference.
So, should you stock up on hot chocolate and dig the sledge out of the garage? Probably not a bad idea. But equally, we might just wake up to a light covering and business as usual.
