New 24/7 Mental Health Text Support Now Available Across Staffordshire

Discreet new text service offers round-the-clock mental health support for anyone in Staffordshire - no call needed, just a message.

Residents across Staffordshire now have access to a new free mental health support service via text, available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week - no talking required.

Whether you're struggling with your mental health or simply having a tough day, help is now just a text message away. Two dedicated numbers have been launched, one for the south of the county and one for the north. The idea is to give people a discreet and easy way to get support, especially if speaking on the phone feels overwhelming or isn’t possible in the moment.

Here are the numbers to know:
📱 South Staffordshire (that probably includes Burton, geographically speaking): 07507 330605
📱 North Staffordshire & Stoke-on-Trent: 07312 263117

While we’ve not had official confirmation which side of the imaginary county line Burton sits on for this service, looking at the map, you’d assume we’re more on the southern end - so the first number is probably your best bet.

The service is run by the Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust and the North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust, and it’s all part of a wider push by the NHS to improve mental health care access. You can text for support at any time of day or night - evenings, weekends, bank holidays - and trained responders will be on hand to help.

It’s particularly useful for those who:
✔️ Feel anxious about talking on the phone
✔️ Need support while out and about or in a public space
✔️ Want fast, compassionate help without waiting for an appointment

Please note: the text lines are for non-emergency support. If you or someone else is at serious risk, always call 999. You can also ring NHS 111 and choose the mental health option for urgent support.

This new text service is part of a growing toolkit of mental health resources being made more accessible across Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. It’s a small but meaningful step in making sure nobody feels alone - no matter where they are or what time it is.

So if you're having a hard time, know this: you're not alone, and help is just a text away.
