New Grant Offers Free Heating Upgrades for Burton’s Most Vulnerable Homes

New Grant Offers Free Heating Upgrades for Burton’s Most Vulnerable Homes

Because nobody should have to choose between heating and eating

A new phase of the Staffordshire Warmer Homes scheme has just opened - and it’s offering free heating and insulation upgrades to households who need them most.

The newly launched ‘Warm Homes: Local Grant’ is aimed at helping those struggling with cold homes, high energy bills, or health conditions made worse by chilly living conditions. If that sounds familiar, you may be eligible for fully funded home improvements like loft or wall insulation, modern heating systems, solar panels, and smart heating controls.

The scheme is being run by Staffordshire County Council in partnership with local district and borough councils (including our own in East Staffordshire), and it’s designed to make homes warmer, healthier and - importantly - cheaper to heat.

🗣️ Cllr Martin Rogerson, Cabinet Member for Health and Care, said:

“Keeping Staffordshire’s residents warm and well through the winter is one of our top public health priorities... This support can make a real and lasting difference.”

Funding is limited and expected to be snapped up quickly. Priority will go to households on lower incomes, those facing financial hardship, and people with health conditions made worse by cold homes.

💻 How to apply
You can check if you're eligible and apply online at:
📞 Or call: 0115 718 1822 if you'd prefer help filling in the form.

If your home’s more icebox than haven this winter, it’s worth checking—this grant could turn up the heat without turning up your bills.
