Free Trees for Burton Residents This February đą |
Free tree giveaway comes to Burton with hundreds of native saplings available |
Fancy adding a bit more green to Burton this year? Youâre in luck. Free trees are being given away to Burton residents next month, offering a simple way to boost local wildlife, brighten up gardens, and quietly help the planet while youâre at it.
The giveaway takes place on Monday 16 February, from 10am to 2pm, at The Greenhouse, right here in Burton.
Organised by the Staffordshire Sustainability Board and supported by East Staffordshire Borough Council, the event will see 500 native trees handed out on a first-come, first-served basis. Once theyâre gone⌠well, thatâs it until next time.
Residents can choose from a lovely mix of native species, including hawthorn, rowan, silver birch, crab apple and whitebeam. All trees are between 30â60cm tall, which means theyâre easy to carry home and perfectly suited to gardens and small outdoor spaces.
Councillor Dennis Fletcher, Cabinet Member for Environment and Climate Change, said:
Each tree comes with planting guidance, plus a QR code so you can log your tree on an interactive map, helping track new trees being planted across the county. A bit like PokÊmon Go⌠but for oak fans.
Event details at a glance:
If youâve ever fancied planting a tree but never quite got round to it, this is your sign. Free tree, local spot, no excuses - Burtonâs about to get a little leafier. đł |
