🎠 Carousel Comes to Burton: A Musical Masterpiece at The Brewhouse

Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved musical brings timeless songs and heartfelt storytelling to Burton this November

Theatre

Clear your calendars, Burton – one of musical theatre’s all-time greats is coming to town this November, promising an unforgettable evening (or afternoon!) of romance, drama, and soaring song. The Little Theatre Company will be performing Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Carousel at The Brewhouse Arts Centre from Tuesday 25th to Saturday 29th November 2025, with six performances in total, including a Saturday matinee.

Whether you’re a lifelong fan of musical theatre or just fancy a night out with a bit of heart and soul, Carousel delivers a powerful story packed with timeless tunes.

If you love sweeping love stories, spine-tingling songs, and theatre that moves both your heart and your soul, then this is the ticket for you.

đź’« A Story That Lingers Long After the Final Bow

Set in Northern England at the turn of the 20th century, Carousel follows the passionate, complicated romance between Billy Bigelow, a brash but charming carousel barker, and Julie Jordan, a gentle yet strong-willed millworker.

As their story unfolds, we’re taken on an emotional journey of love, loss, and redemption – with twists that venture beyond the bounds of time itself. Carousel doesn’t shy away from life’s messier moments, but ultimately delivers a message of hope, forgiveness, and the enduring power of love.

🎵 Timeless Songs That Tug at the Heartstrings

The score, composed by the legendary Rodgers and Hammerstein (the duo behind The Sound of Music and Oklahoma!), is nothing short of iconic. Expect to be swept away by classics such as:

  • “If I Loved You” – a poignant duet brimming with yearning and hesitation.

  • “June Is Bustin’ Out All Over” – a rousing celebration of life and the arrival of summer.

  • “You’ll Never Walk Alone” – perhaps one of the most powerful anthems of hope and resilience ever written.

  •

These are songs that stay with you – the kind that make the hairs on your arms stand up and leave a lump in your throat (in the best possible way).

🎭 Local Theatre, Big Ambitions

This production is being staged by Little Theatre Company, a well-established and respected part of Burton’s amateur theatre scene. Known for tackling both classic and contemporary shows with care and creativity, they’re bringing Carousel to life with a full cast and beautiful costumes.
