Burton’s Buildings to Shine Bright in Magical ‘Canvas of Light’ Spectacle
From church spires to water towers — Burton’s getting a festive glow-up like never before!
18–20 December | 5pm–8pm | FREE | St Modwen’s Church, Bass Water Tower & Memorial Gardens
Burton upon Trent is set to sparkle like never before this Christmas, with a stunning new light show that’s sure to leave visitors starry-eyed.
Canvas of Light: Starlight, created by the award-winning light art collective Luxmuralis, is coming to town for the first time – and it’s completely free to enjoy. Over three evenings from Wednesday 18th to Friday 20th December, two of Burton’s most treasured landmarks – St Modwen’s Church and the Bass Water Tower – will be transformed by spectacular light projections celebrating the town’s heritage in a dazzlingly modern way.
And it doesn’t stop there. A glowing trail of light and colour will wind through the newly revamped Memorial Gardens, linking the two historic buildings and creating a magical walk for families, friends and festive wanderers alike.
🎄 What to expect:
Councillor Paul Walker, East Staffordshire Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Tourism and Cultural Development, said:
You don’t need a ticket – just wrap up warm, grab your loved ones, and enjoy this free winter wonderland of light, history and festive cheer. |
