📅 What’s On in Burton This Week
Good morning and welcome to this week’s InBurton Insider!
Another busy weekend is heading our way, with plenty to keep us entertained around town! From live music and Halloween parties to Burton Albion, craft fairs, Motorfest and even a Bavarian oompah night, there's something for everyone.
With Bonfire Night fast approaching, we've rounded up the upcoming bonfire and fireworks displays around the area, plus we've got news of this year's Burton Christmas lights switch-on. Yes, Christmas is creeping up on us already!
Elsewhere, we've got our regular Business Bites, the weekend weather forecast, and the latest cheapest petrol and diesel prices around the area. And there's good news at the pumps for once - prices have finally dropped since last week! Admittedly, it's only by a penny, so perhaps hold off on booking that Caribbean cruise with the savings.
And finally, don't forget that the clocks go back one hour in the early hours of Sunday morning. That means an extra hour in bed, or an extra hour to recover from Saturday night's festivities. Either way, we'll take it!

🍺 New funding bids have been submitted to the National Lottery Heritage Fund for the Bass House Brewing Heritage Centre and the Brewery Heritage Trust’s proposed new archive centre and national digital heritage hub on High Street. ☕ Transylvanian Bites has opened at 71 New Street, Burton, serving traditional Hungarian and Transylvanian favourites. The new café promises homemade flavours and a warm welcome. 💍 Grace & Co Jewellery is coming to Coopers Square Shopping Centre in Burton. The new store will stock its jewellery collections alongside popular brands including Nomination.

Bonfire Night 2026 is set to light up Burton-on-Trent and nearby villages with an exciting lineup of fireworks displays and festivities for all ages.
With events taking place from Friday 30th October through to Sunday 8th November, there's plenty of opportunity to wrap up warm, grab a hot chocolate and enjoy some spectacular fireworks!
We've been busy rounding up all the local displays, and so far our guide includes:

Burton will welcome the festive season on Sunday 22 November 2026, when its Christmas lights switch-on returns to the Market Place.
Organised by East Staffordshire Borough Council, the free event begins at 2pm with live entertainment, family activities, festive food and drink stalls, and a funfair.
From 5pm, the Christmas lights switch-on and a fireworks display will bring the town centre celebrations to a sparkling peak.
The funfair will continue into the evening, giving families more time to enjoy the festivities.
Councillor Paul Walker, cabinet member for tourism and cultural development, said the event remains a favourite with residents and will offer activities for the whole family.
